Howdy y'all, life's been good here in the GANM. A lot of fun stuff this week, as usual. I'll just jump right in.
So on Monday we had a cool miracle. We were running out of stuff to do and it was getting dark. We tried a bunch of people, and none of them wanted to talk. We decided to try one more person, a less active who we'd never met, and she opened the door and was so happy to see us. She said that she was trying to Skype with her kids and have a fhe with them, but they were all too busy, and she was praying for something to happen, and she said that we showed up just after, and she knew God sent us. We were able to have a little lesson with her husband and some of her younger kids, and we prayed for her kids who were away at college. As we were leaving she told us she knew he spirit directed us there and she started texting her kids at college to tell them about her experience.
There are a ton of things like that that happen every week, but I thought I'd mention that one. There were some more fun things; we met a guy named Jimmy, he and his two kids were pulling into their driveway. He said "come back in an hour, I don't have time rn", so we did and we talked and got a return appointment. We came back a few days later and a white guy with different kids was there, and he said that nobody named Jimmy had ever lived there. Also the number jimmy gave us was someone else's. I think he was either a secret agent or a ghost. We ate with our Czech friend again, and we learned that he was a mercenary in South America before he was converted. He survived 6 bullets and 2 grenades. Every time we go back there, his life gets crazier. We met someone and put him on date, we met someone and had a lesson and got a return appointment, then 45 minutes later he dropped us. Idk the usual fun stuff.
This week I've been thinking about fear. One of the Sunday school classes had a lesson about fear, and it was really thought provoking. He asked how the devil managed to recruit a third part of the hosts of heaven, like how can someone convince people to rebel against God while in the presence of God. He said "I believe that Satan used fear. He got the spirits to fear about whether they would make it or not, because in God's plan, there's no guarantee that anyone will make it. He might have tried to cast doubt on Christ's ability to even perform an atonement. He might have tried to convince them that it's better to not try at all rather than risk it." I think that that's really the same way he gets us nowadays.
That's all folks, till next time
