Hi family! What's up? We had a good week! I have a new companion.... Elder Egbert! He's back! After 6 months in Marietta together we're companions. What a wild ride. We have a funny story. So  on Tuesday  here's what happened, we met this guy named Devin, he was blasting rap music, and when we came up he was like "oh! Sorry for the music, I swear I'm Christian!" Then he came out and he kept saying "in Jesus's name amen", because it kept the evil spirits away. Also he's dating a 16 year old and he's 30. While we were talking to him, old red dog came up to us and looked like he was going to kill us, but he gave us a beer and told us to sit with him. (We told him we were Mormon and also that I was 19, but he didn't care) Then he gave us a knife, and then we fixed his mailbox. Just a day in the life. The coolest experience from this week happened right after transfers. It was Elder Egbert's first night here, and we were knocking d

Hey guys, so I'm going to email you all today. I talked to some of you yesterday, and I heard that you would like to hear more about the actual work and our investigators. Well you picked a great week to hear about that stuff, we met a guy named Brayden this week. We found him Monday night, and he was walking away from us, smoking a cigarette and kind of shady looking. We went and offered him a card and he invited us into his backyard. He has looked at a lot of anti and he has also done a lot of research on the church, so we answered some of his questions (he asked about polygamy and he said he already knew the answer, he was testing us to see if we would try to lie to him about it, and we passed!), and he asked for a Book of Mormon. He texted us later that night and said he already started reading it. Tuesday morning he texted us and said he felt weirdly drawn into the Book and when we sent him a scripture about praying he said he felt like a wave of warm hit him. We were so pumpe

Hello dear family and hi dear friends. Welcome to another week that has gone by. We had a lot of fun adventures this week and we're looking forward to more fun adventures soon! I'll tell you all about it. So the weather is nice up here, when it's not raining. It's rained a ton. But on the plus side some guy gave us free umbrellas on Saturday, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I learned to clean out a carb on a lawn mower, we fixed two for our investigator Tim, so now I'm a mechanic! We went to a retirement home and we talked to a bunch of old guys, and we played uno and an old lady said if she was 100 years younger she would have two new boyfriends, and then she kissed us on the cheek. Elder Larsen got an infectious disease! Some guy opened the door and shook his hand and kind of paused and was like "oh, I shouldn't have done that. I have an infectious disease, I just got back from the hospital" and then he ran inside and grabbed some hand sanitizer

Hello my family and hi my friends. How have you been? Have you had a fruitful week? I hope so, we had a good week, but I left my journal in the other elders car. I'll try to remember what I did this week. I think this week we just found and taught and contacted a ton of people. We now have two people on date for baptism, we've been teaching a bunch, and it's really just been good. I guess I should tell you about our investigators, a really cool one is Dennis Lee. He accepted to be baptized on the 20th, and he has a really sick mother that he needs to care for 24/7. It's pretty sad, and he can't leave for more than 30 mins, so he can't come to church. We have some ideas though. The other one who is on date is an 8 year old daughter of a kind of member. He recently got custody of her, and she loves reading the Book of Mormon with us. It's been fun to meet with them. We have an investigator named Tim, I don't know if I've talked about him before. He has

April 24th week 43

Hey fam. We had a week! It was a good week! I got an unapproved haircut! I'll send a selfie in a sec. We had Elder Rasband come to our stake this week! It was awesome, he first came and spoke to the youth, and it was really packed apparently. Everyone loved it though, and he spoke about families. He quoted the saying that said no success can compensate for failure in the family, he talked about what makes a family a failure (when people stop trying), and he told us about what happened when he was ordained an apostle. It was awesome, he told us about what happens in the upper room of the temple and the words they used to ordain him. I've never heard it before. So there were also other things during the week. We ate at a restaurant called the pool room, where NASCAR started. Apparently it was bootleggers that started it, and a bunch of NASCAR guys are from Dawsonville. Also moonshine was invented here! We went to a zoo, I petted a baby black bear, I bought a beanie with a c

April 17th Week 42

Hey everyone, how's it going? It's been a good week here, spring is upon us! It was upon us for a few weeks now, but now it's been Easter, so it's official. Happy Easter also by the way! Thanks for the package as well, I got it Saturday night and then I took a selfie to prove it. Thank you all for the letters, I love hearing from you guys, I'll start writing replies, but it may be a while. So we had a great week. I made my companion dig his own grave on Monday. Jk, it was a grave for a dog. That wasn't dead yet. But it will soon be dead, it's really sad looking, it can't walk or really breathe. The rest of our week was fairly normal besides the weekend, just interviews with president, zone conference, lots of traveling because we live out in the boonies. Good stuff, I'll tell you guys about the weekend though, lots of fun stuff. So Saturday was good, we met a guy who was a free mason, and he was really chill, offered to buy us a pizza and told us tha
