Hey yall, what's up? Big cool stuff is happening here in Georgia,
tornados are coming for us! Jk, its further south, and we have a new
president! Plus there's going to be a ton of changes to how missionary
schedules work. I don't know yet what's up, but rumor has it that we
now get to decide for ourselves how to best use our time. It's going
to be ridiculous. Actually, what's going to happen is a lot of
confusion, good missionaries will do good things with it, lazy
missionaries will do bad things. Anyways, What an eventful week, I'll
give you some highlights.
So, we got to volunteer at a place where we walk dogs and play with
cats, it's pretty fun, and it's a great place to meet people. I went
to a dinner where both participants only spoke Spanish, and we only
speak English. That was interesting. Oh, and another dinner the member
feeding us kind of randomly left and started chain smoking in the back
room, so we helped her clean up and kind of excused ourselves. I also
had the wildest visit with a less active recent convert who throws
hangers at her grandkids. Also we knocked into a fat guy in his
underwear, and a... large girl in very thin see through clothing.
Basically two naked people in one week. Idk it was pretty fun all in
all. Oh and we started teaching our Walmart greeter.
So this week we started working with some of our members and we've
started asking them to make a "family mission plan". Basically think
about who they can help and then set goals on how to actually help
them. The members have already had some powerful experiences, it's
been really nice. I'd invite you all to do the same, and if you're
already doing it, congrats! Share your experiences with other people,
it works wonders!
The pictures btw are me at a "Chinese dinner", we found some houses
where they filmed the walking dead, I got a picture of the kkk place,
and we found a really cute tiny stop sign.
The church is true, and the work is awesome. See you all next time, Elder Roach
