Hey my friend. I am speaking to you personally. How are you doing? I
have wonderful news about my life that I want to share with you! Oh,
and transfers were this week and I'm staying another transfer here
with Elder Larsen! Season three baby! It's pretty unusual to stay with
one companion for three transfers, and now I'm doing it again!
So some fun things happened this week. A pretty cool experience
happened to us Monday, we left dinner and our plans fell through for
the night. Happens all the time, whatever, we had backup tracting! We
were going to leave, when we remembered our dinner gave us a sort of
referral, so we tried that. They weren't interested, but we felt we
should keep going. The second door we knocked on was a woman who said
"who sent you?" And it turns out she was a member who hasn't been
active for a long time! We shared the Easter video with her, it was a
good time.
We heard of something funny too, they called it the "kiddie dip".
Apparently way back in the day the missionaries in Atlanta used to
gather all of the kids from playgrounds that were over 8 and baptize
them. None of them stayed in the church though, so I don't know if
I'll try it. Anyways, we met a guy that looked like breaking bad, on
exchange I found another missionaries stack of cash, we crashed a
birthday party, we had like 4 birthdays on the same day, played with
some dogs and had Conference.
Did you all like Conference? I liked Conference. It was pretty
awesome, did you notice some similar themes throughout the sessions? I
don't know what it was, but this Conference felt different, it felt
more powerful than normal. I think I felt an emphasis on the Godhead
this time around, you know, that's something that I've always taken
for granted in my life. Most people don't know the really simple
truths about who we worship that we teach to primary children. I'd
encourage you to take one of the challenges from general Conference to
get to know them better.
